Android Setup

The Vendivo Android companion is still in store-release preparation and is not a public customer download. The planned minimum is Android 10. Formats, lenses, 60 fps modes, and 4K support will depend on the specific phone and selected camera.

First launch

1. Allow Camera access.
2. Allow notifications so Android can display the required foreground-camera status while streaming.
3. In the validation build, tap Check My Setup for the guided connection test, or tap Start Streaming when the Mac is ready.

The phone does not begin sending video until you tap Start Streaming.

USB

1. Use a USB-C cable that supports data, not a charge-only cable.
2. Connect the phone directly to the Mac when possible.
3. Unlock the phone.
4. If Android asks which app should handle the USB accessory, choose Vendivo and allow it.
5. Tap Start Streaming.

The planned customer setup does not require Developer Options or USB debugging. Those settings are currently used only when installing internal validation builds from Android Studio.

Some manufacturer security features can block USB accessory mode. Keep the phone's protections enabled when possible; use Wi-Fi if a work-managed or security-restricted phone does not allow the accessory connection.

Wi-Fi

1. Put the Android phone and Mac on the same local network.
2. Open Vendivo and OBS.
3. On macOS, allow Local Network access for both apps.
4. Tap Start Streaming on Android.

Internet speed is not the important measurement. Wi-Fi quality depends on the local route between the phone and Mac. Prefer 5 GHz or 6 GHz, keep the Mac on Ethernet when practical, and avoid guest networks or access-point client isolation.

Cameras and orientation

The companion is designed to use the camera-switch button for front and rear cameras. Vendivo reads the phone's camera sensor orientation and applies the correct stream rotation without a model-specific device list.

If a camera is sideways or upside down:

1. Stop the stream.
2. Return the phone to the intended portrait or landscape position.
3. Start streaming again.
4. If the problem repeats, report the phone model, Android version, selected camera, and orientation to support.

Free and Pro

The announced Free tier streams at 720p/30 for five active minutes per session. The announced Pro tier adds unlimited sessions, supported 1080p and 4K formats, supported 60 fps modes, automatic phone recordings, Director controls, and multiple-phone production.

No Android plan is currently purchasable. A $29.99 annual introductory option has been announced, but final availability and terms will be confirmed in the verified Google Play listing when the companion launches.

Current Android audio behavior

The planned Android launch path sends video only. Choose a separate microphone in OBS or the destination app. The forthcoming iPhone companion is designed to optionally publish phone microphone audio to OBS.

If Android does not appear

• Confirm the phone is unlocked and Vendivo is open.
• Confirm you tapped Start Streaming.
• For USB, approve the accessory prompt and try a known data cable.
• For Wi-Fi, confirm both devices are on the same non-guest network.
• In Vendivo, run Setup & connection check.
• In Camera Home, choose Add to OBS after the Android stream becomes available.
