Troubleshooting
Keep the public broadcast off while diagnosing. Fix the first failed state Vendivo shows, then repeat only the setup and verification steps affected by that change.
This page covers the released Vendivo for Mac workflow. The phone companion apps are not public customer downloads.
Start with this recovery order
- Stop the destination broadcast and confirm it is off air.
- Stop and finalize any recording.
- Select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted.
- Confirm the marketplace mode under Show Settings → Accounts & Marketplaces: Manual / External, Whatnot, eBay Live, or TikTok Shop.
- Confirm camera assignments under Cameras.
- Select Set Up OBS Automatically or Sync OBS Setup under Production Engine.
- Test and apply the microphone under Audio.
- Select Apply & Verify under Output & Recording.
- Use TEST CAMERA VIEWS to verify every enabled picture.
Do not begin by rebuilding sources manually in OBS. Vendivo's managed setup can usually identify the failing layer and resynchronize it safely.
A camera is missing from the list
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and enable Vendivo.
- Quit FaceTime, Zoom, Teams, browser calls, and other camera apps.
- Disconnect and reconnect an external camera or capture device.
- Avoid an overloaded USB hub; connect the camera directly when possible.
- Quit and reopen Vendivo.
- Return to Show Settings → Cameras.
The integrated FaceTime camera should appear by its macOS device name in Live Selling. Camera Home is a forthcoming phone-companion workflow and does not list local Mac cameras.
If the camera works in FaceTime but still never appears in Live Selling, restart the Mac before changing OBS manually.
The wrong camera appears in the program
- If the same camera or engine can be reconnected, leave an interrupted show open and select Recover or Recover Program.
- If an assignment, source, or scene must change, stop the public broadcast and confirm it is off air.
- Stop and finalize recording, select End Show, and wait for output or setup transitions to finish.
- Verify the exact assignment under Cameras: Camera 1 for either one-camera mode, Seller and Product for two-camera Whatnot, Wide / Host and Product for two-camera landscape, or Overview, Product, and Host for three-camera landscape.
- Open Production Engine and select Sync OBS Setup.
- Open Output & Recording, select Apply & Verify, and repeat every affected camera-view test.
Assignments save in Cameras, but the finished audience picture is created by the synchronized production scenes.
The preview is blank or says it is not verified
Check the status from top to bottom:
- Camera availability: every assigned camera must be available to the production engine.
- Production engine: it must report Connected and its managed scenes must be ready.
- Show output: the output destination or local Whatnot credential, recording-folder configuration, microphone, network, storage, and computer-health checks must pass Apply & Verify. This does not prove that Show Tools is connected or live.
- Program picture: each required view must show a live frame in TEST CAMERA VIEWS.
If the engine is disconnected, select Connect Production Engine. If it is not configured or scenes need attention, use Show Settings → Production Engine first.
A status such as “Program picture not verified” is a readiness state, not a video overlay. Finish the required camera tests while public output is off.
Use the recovery action that matches the overlay:
- Retry Video when the expected scene exists but no fresh frame arrived.
- Sync Production Engine when camera or scene structure changed.
- Camera Settings… when an assignment is missing or wrong.
- Connect Production Engine when the engine is offline.
- Engine Settings… when automatic production setup needs attention.
The Whatnot preview is tiny or the layout is wrong
Whatnot must be selected before cameras and engine setup.
- If a local show is active or interrupted, stop the public broadcast and confirm it is off air, stop and finalize recording, select End Show, and wait for transitions to finish.
- Open Accounts & Marketplaces and choose Whatnot.
- Confirm Output & Recording shows Whatnot portrait at 1080 × 1920.
- Assign Camera 1 for a one-camera Whatnot setup, or reassign separate Seller and Product cameras for two cameras.
- Select Sync OBS Setup.
- Re-run Apply & Verify and TEST CAMERA VIEWS.
The portrait confidence image is intentionally narrower than the surrounding desktop workspace. The video inside it should fill the 9:16 frame without being squeezed into a tiny box.
Picture-in-Picture covers the product
Use Move seller window left/right while Picture-in-Picture is selected. If neither corner is clear enough, switch to Stacked or a full-screen Product view.
Vendivo deliberately gives the product most of the Whatnot frame. If the seller window is still unusually large, stop the public broadcast and confirm off-air, stop and finalize recording, select End Show, wait for transitions, then select Sync OBS Setup and repeat the affected camera tests.
The Vendivo preview lags but OBS or the destination is smooth
Vendivo's image is a confidence monitor; the production engine and destination are the audience path. If the destination remains smooth, the sale can be healthy even when the local confidence view updates less often under heavy Mac load.
Still reduce avoidable load:
- Close unused camera, browser, rendering, and encoding apps.
- Stop recordings you do not need.
- Use stable 30 fps camera formats.
- Disconnect unused capture devices.
- Keep the Mac on power and test under realistic show load.
If the destination also stutters, simplify the scene, reduce capture load, and test again before going live.
Vendivo shows a label or banner around the preview
Status labels, scene names, warnings, item notes, and controls around the Vendivo confidence preview stay inside the app. They are not part of the managed audience program.
If that text appears inside the destination video, stop the broadcast and confirm off-air, stop and finalize recording, select End Show, and wait for transitions. Remove any manually added display or window capture from the Vendivo scenes in Pro Mode, then select Sync OBS Setup, run Apply & Verify, and repeat the affected camera tests.
OBS is visible when it should be hidden
Normal Mode launches the engine in tray mode without the full OBS interface. OBS opens completely only when Open Pro Mode is selected or OBS is opened independently.
- Save any OBS work.
- Stop public output and confirm the destination reports off air.
- If recording is active, stop it, wait for finalization, and verify the file.
- Select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, then wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish.
- Quit OBS and Vendivo.
- Reopen Vendivo and stay in Normal Mode.
- Use Vendivo's Connect Production Engine or automatic setup action rather than opening OBS yourself.
Vendivo says OBS is already running during setup
Vendivo may need OBS closed to install a plugin, change local control, or repair the managed configuration.
- Save unrelated OBS work.
- Stop public output and confirm the destination reports off air.
- If recording is active, stop it, wait for finalization, and verify the file.
- Select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, then wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish.
- Stop the virtual camera and replay buffer if either is active.
- Quit OBS completely.
- Return to Vendivo and retry Set Up OBS Automatically.
Do not force-quit OBS while a recording is still finalizing.
The production engine will not connect
- Confirm OBS Studio 28 or later is installed in Applications.
- Stop public output and confirm the destination reports off air.
- If recording is active, stop it, wait for finalization, and verify the file.
- Select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, then wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish.
- Quit OBS completely.
- Open Show Settings → Production Engine.
- Select Set Up OBS Automatically.
- Wait for the plugin, local control, engine, and scenes to report ready.
If Vendivo reports an incomplete OBS response such as GetProfileList, restart OBS once through Vendivo and retry setup. Do not change the WebSocket port or delete profiles as a first response.
Whatnot Show Tools cannot connect
In Whatnot Connection…, confirm:
- Address is
127.0.0.1 - Port is
4455 - Password is at least eight characters
- Verify & Apply succeeds
- The exact applied password is entered in Show Tools
Use Chrome for Show Tools. The address is local to the same Mac; do not replace it with the Mac's Wi-Fi address.
If the password must change, stop the public broadcast and confirm it is off air, stop and finalize recording, select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, and wait for any broadcast, recording, or setup transition to finish before selecting Verify & Apply. Then reconnect Show Tools.
The connection status points to the next action:
- READY FOR WHATNOT — the local OBS credential is applied and copyable. This does not mean Show Tools is connected or broadcasting.
- VERIFY TO COPY or CHANGES NOT APPLIED — select Verify & Apply before copying.
- OBS OFFLINE — reconnect the production engine.
- SETUP REQUIRED — complete automatic production setup first.
If applying a changed password asks OBS to quit, save its work, stop the public broadcast and confirm the destination reports off air, stop and finalize any recording, select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, and wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish. Then quit OBS and select Retry. Use Show OBS only when you intentionally need to inspect the engine.
Whatnot connects but shows a blank picture
- Keep the public broadcast off.
- Confirm Whatnot is selected before camera setup.
- If the same engine can reconnect, select Recover or Recover Program before changing structure.
- If scenes must change, confirm the public broadcast is off air, stop and finalize recording, select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, and wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish. Then select Sync OBS Setup under Production Engine.
- Run Apply & Verify under Output & Recording.
- Test every required camera view.
- Build the queue and select Start Show in Vendivo.
- Only then start the broadcast in Whatnot Show Tools.
Do not use OBS Virtual Camera as the main Whatnot route. It is a video-only compatibility camera and does not carry the managed microphone.
Whatnot output is backward but Vendivo looks correct
Judge orientation using readable text in the actual Whatnot output, not only a mirrored local selfie preview.
- Stop the public broadcast and confirm Whatnot is off air.
- Stop and finalize recording, select End Show, and wait for output or setup transitions to finish.
- Confirm you are using the current Vendivo 1.0.0 build 41 release.
- Remove any manual horizontal-flip transform added in Pro Mode.
- Select Sync OBS Setup, run Apply & Verify, and repeat the affected camera-view tests.
- Verify readable text again in Show Tools before going live.
Camera switching does not change the live picture
Confirm Start Show is active in Vendivo. The item workflow and public broadcast are separate; connecting Show Tools alone does not start Vendivo's local timeline.
If Vendivo shows SHOW INTERRUPTED, leave the show open first. The local timeline remains active.
- Reconnect the named camera or production engine.
- Select Recover or Recover Program.
- Confirm the intended live scene returns.
If same-device recovery fails—or the camera assignment or scene structure must change—stop the destination broadcast and confirm off-air, stop and finalize recording, select End Show, wait for transitions, synchronize the production engine, run Apply & Verify, repeat every affected camera-view test, and start the show again before restarting the broadcast.
The microphone is missing
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and enable Vendivo.
- Confirm the device appears under System Settings → Sound → Input.
- Reconnect the microphone or interface.
- Reopen Show Settings → Audio.
- Select the device, run Test Microphone, then select Use This Microphone.
The meter moves but viewers hear nothing
- Confirm Use This Microphone was selected after testing.
- Confirm Make Vendivo broadcasts video-only is off.
- Re-run Apply & Verify under Output & Recording.
- Confirm the destination is not muted.
- Confirm the destination uses managed WHIP/RTMP output rather than OBS Virtual Camera.
OBS Virtual Camera carries no OBS audio.
Audio is doubled, echoing, or clipping
- Keep one deliberate audience microphone path.
- Do not add the same physical input twice in Pro Mode.
- Use headphones for destination monitoring.
- Move speakers away from the microphone or mute the remote monitor.
- Reduce hardware input gain if loud speech clips.
- Reapply Use This Microphone after custom Pro Mode routing.
An audio warning mentions Replay Buffer
GetReplayBufferStatus: Replay buffer is not available describes a separate OBS feature, not microphone failure. Dismiss the warning, verify the selected input in Audio, and run an end-to-end listening test.
Recording did not start or save
For Whatnot, recording is manual:
- Complete preflight and select Start Show.
- Select RECORD in Vendivo before starting the public broadcast.
- Confirm the control changes to RECORDING.
- At the end, stop the public broadcast first.
- Stop recording and wait for the recording file to finalize.
- Verify the file, then select End Show.
If recording cannot start, check the configured recording folder and available storage under Output & Recording, then run Apply & Verify again.
