Vendivo Glossary

Vendivo hides much of the production machinery, but a few terms make setup and troubleshooting easier.

Audience program

The finished picture and managed audio intended for viewers. It is different from an individual camera feed and from the Vendivo interface around the preview.

Confidence preview

Vendivo's local view of the finished OBS program. It helps the seller confirm framing and switching. Status badges, labels, and controls around it are not part of the audience program.

Program picture verification

The test that confirms an expected live frame arrived for a required production view. A detected camera is not automatically a verified program picture.

Production engine

OBS Studio running as the composition and output foundation behind Vendivo.

Normal Mode

The standard Vendivo experience. OBS runs in tray mode while Vendivo provides the customer-facing controls.

Pro Mode

The complete OBS interface opened intentionally from Open Pro Mode. It uses the same production state as Normal Mode, so changes can affect the audience.

Scene

A complete visual composition in OBS. Vendivo manages dedicated scenes for Seller, Product, Stacked, Picture-in-Picture, Host, Break, Close-up, and Protected Overview as required by the destination.

Source

One ingredient inside a scene, such as a camera or microphone. A source preview is not necessarily the program currently sent to viewers.

Camera assignment

The role given to a physical camera in Vendivo. Whatnot uses Camera 1 for one camera or Seller and Product for two. Landscape uses Camera 1 for one camera, Wide / Host and Product for two, or Overview, Product, and Host for three.

Marketplace mode

The selling context selected under Accounts & Marketplaces: Manual / External, Whatnot, eBay Live, or TikTok Shop. Whatnot changes the program format and camera roles. This is separate from the standard RTMP output destination.

Output destination

Where a standard RTMP broadcast is sent, selected under Output & Recording as Selling marketplace, YouTube Live, Twitch, or Custom RTMP. Whatnot instead uses its fixed Show Tools/WHIP workflow.

Start Show

Starts Vendivo's local show timeline, first queue item, and requested program view. It does not start the public destination broadcast.

Broadcast

The public output. Whatnot starts and stops it in Show Tools. Standard RTMP starts and stops with Vendivo's START and STOP controls. Ending a Vendivo show does not automatically prove either output is off air.

Show queue

The ordered products, cards, breaks, or lots used by the Vendivo timeline. At least one item is required before Start Show.

WebSocket

The authenticated local control connection between Whatnot Show Tools and OBS. Vendivo's default Whatnot connection uses 127.0.0.1:4455 and an applied password.

WHIP

The broadcast delivery method supplied by Whatnot Show Tools for the Whatnot show. Show Tools owns the public WHIP broadcast state.

RTMP or RTMPS

A server-and-stream-key broadcast path used by YouTube Live, Twitch, selling destinations, or custom endpoints. RTMPS protects the connection with TLS.

OBS Virtual Camera

A compatibility device that publishes the composed OBS picture to an app with a camera picker. It carries no OBS audio.

Sync OBS Setup

Updates Vendivo's managed scenes after cameras, destination format, or production structure changes.

Apply & Verify

Applies output, recording-folder, and microphone configuration, then checks Production engine, Destination/Whatnot Show Tools configuration, Microphone, Internet, Recording storage, and Computer health. It does not create scenes, test an actual recording, verify camera picture, or prove that Whatnot Show Tools/WHIP is connected or live.

Preflight

Vendivo's readiness process across queue, camera plan, camera availability, OBS production, show output, and program picture. The first item needing attention determines the next safe action.
